We all get moments when out broadband, and even high speed broadband is giving us a little problem or two.  And all we really want to do is toss the sodding computer out of the window, don’t we?  If you don’t you’re probably the calmest person on the planet and i need your help with anger management issues…

So one thing you could do if your broadband is playing up is get the line checked.  There could be a fault on it, and the time taken to call the wonderous staff at BT is certainly worth it; even if you do stay on hold for three days and listen to five Janet Jackson Albums!  Argh!  The BT staff will sort you out eventually, and if there is a fault on the line they’ll fix it in a jiffy; or alternatively they’ll forget about it until your entire street calls complaining about their high speed broadband connection problems.  I’m just trying to cover all eventualities here folks, don’t shoot me, i’m just the messenger!

There is another reason, and this shocks some people, even though they should be quite aware.  You may have forgotten that you have a usuage allowance on your broadband package, and you might just have gone over it or be at the max.

You might be mistaken about all of it, and it might be your PC that’s playing up, causing the high speed internet problems.  In order to check if this is the case, all you need do is run a speed check.  Some ISP’s have them on their websites and if they don’t you can download them free from the internet anyway.  So either way you can check the speed of your alleged high speed broadband connection without going to too much trouble.  It’s all a bit of a hassle really.
