High speed broadband is called so simply because it’s faster than the others. There, that was easy wan’t it. No? You want to know why and how? Alright then. Well it’s all about the transfer of information…
I don’t know that much about it to be honest, and you shouldn’t be that interested either (whatever happened to people just ignoring their curiosity?), but highspeed broadband operates by transfering faster than other connections. Dial up modems operate by the transference of information at around 56 Kilobits per second or less, and they also disrupt your telephone service. Now that might not mean much to you, and it certainly means nothing to me until i compare it against the rate of highspeed broadband. I suppose its a little like defining good against evil; one means nothing without the other really.
Highspeed broadband operates at double the speed of a dial up modem and leaves your telephone service unchanged. Now don’t get me into why this is, simply because i neither know nor care. All i know, and all i’ll share with you is this. If you are operating on a dial up modem you are living in the dark ages and should be pelted with stones at close range. There is absolutely no reason why you can’t be running a highspeed broadband connection now, especially when they are so affordable and easy to come by.
Go out and get high speed broadband and rise above the fog of slow internet speed!
