There are not many issues with high speed broadband to tell the truth, and once you understand that the speeds advertised by the high speed broadband retailer will not necessarily be the ones you will always get, you’ll be fine to go out and compare high speed broadband prices…

There are a few things that can affect your connection speed, and many of them you’ll be able to do nothing about, and you probably never even considered until now.

  • Bad Weather affects high speed broadband

Bad weather can seriously affect your high speed interent speeds.  This is mainly heavy rain or storms (lightning and that sort of thing), and you should be very careful if you already have broadband equipment because particular lightning storms can ruin your equipment (don’t ask me how, just unplug it all if you can!)

  • Time of day affects high speed broadband

There are certain times in the average day when high speed broadband, in fact any type of broadband, is severely affected.  This is another thing you can do nothing about.  If you imagine all the school childen returning home and switching on their PCs in order to download their favourite tunes, games and porno movies, all at the same time, you can imagine the strain it would place on your high speed broadband connection.  That’s just one example of heavy use, i would imagine there are several others dependent on where you’re from.

So don’t think for a minute you’ll find a high speed broadband salesman out there who will be able to put your mind at ease about these things, because he would simply be lying; there’s no easy fix for these two issues unless you are God!
