There are many uses for high speed broadband, such as downloading your favourite tunes and videos, and watching streaming movies etc, but i have a personal favourite that beats all of these.  I have highspeed broadband to keep in touch with my family…

When i first got online, way back in the day, i didn’t even have a broadband modem for my PC, and i didn’t know anything about them.  Sadly i was still using a dial-up modem.  This was very frustrating, because dial up is as far removed from high speed broadband as a circle from a square.

As soon as i went online, before my high speed broadband days, i still used a webcam to keep in touch with relatives overseas.  It was lovely to see their faces and chat to them online, but it’s a nightmare when the the connection is slow; and that’s just what it was – very slow.  I often had to wait for their images to catch up on the screen, and when they spoke to me it was as though i was watching a dubbed movie.

High speed broadband has solved all of those problems, and i no longer have to imagine what my family look like when they are talking normally.  They moved to Peru, and i actually used to think this is must be just what Peruvians do!  Now both myself and my family in Peru have high speed broadband, although i’m not sure we’ll be using the same supplier!  Or getting the same speeds!  You never know, someone may have installed better equipment in the deepest darkest Peru.
