I wrote post a few days ago about Virgin Media and their fantastic offers in the highspeed internet market.  They boast up to 50 Mbs from their fibre optic technology.  You can find out a little more about fibre optic, highspeed broadband from Virgin Media by click the link…

But i have since found a problem with the offer from Virgin Media.  Just when i was about to sign on the dotted line i realised that when i put my postcode into the search box, Virgin told me that i wasn’t in a fibre optic area!  Damn it,i thought.  They then promptly took me along to their web page that offered me other high speed broadband packages via my telephone line.  Now all their telephone line packages looked good too, but i don’t know if i should go for one of those when i already have a highspeed internet connection with someone else; can i really be bothered to change all the details etc?  No, not really.

It also came to mind that i should perhaps find out if Virgin are planning to go fibre optic in my area any time soon and that perhaps i should wait and see what comes up in the future.  After all i am quite happy with what i have so far, and you don’t necessarily have to change your provider unless you can see a significant benefit.  However, saying that, it never hurts to compare prices doesn it?
