I’d lke to continue an earlier post here and tell you about a few more things that can seriously affect your broadband; even high speed broadband.  There are many things that can significantly reduce the speed of your high speed broadband, so you shouldn’t be surprised if sometimes your actual speed is not as it was advertised…

High speed broadband fluctuates, and is susceptible to many exterior influences.

  • Interference

There are quite a few things that can interfere with your high speed broadband, and you might be surprised if i told you that even your next door neighbours’ electrical equipment can mess up your speed.  Things like alarms are notorious for slowing things down, some TV sets too, and at this time of year it’s important to think about where you put your Christmas lights because they can also mess up your high speed broadband.

  • Virus!

That’s right, you ready correctly.  Your high speed broadband could be slowed considerably due to a virus that you have unwittingly allowed into your system.  You really need to make sure when you are operating broadband connections that you have good anti-virus software to keep you protected.

  • Plain simple geogrpahy affects your high speed broadband too!

Where is your closest telephone exchange?  Do you even know?  It’s amazing how many people don’t.  If you live in a city or large town then you’ll probably have nothing to worry about, and your high speed broadband will remain unaffected.  But if you live in a small village as i used to, getting high speed broadband could be a futile thing to do, simply because you connection speed is lowered the further away you are!
